Fingerpost

Fingerpost, Colwyn Bay

The installation of 55 new fingerpost signage posts is underway in Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Llanrwst.

Conwy County Borough Council has secured a total of £190k from Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics Fund, Coastal Risk Management Fund and UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund to upgrade and install directional signage in the four towns across the County.

Fingerpost signage is a traditional form of wayfinding signage which mainly helps pedestrians and cyclists, but can also assist drivers navigating unfamiliar places.

Following an audit of existing provision, and after consultation with local businesses and the wider community, the Council awarded a contract to signage manufacturer DMA Signs to design and install the new signage.

Cllr Nigel, Cabinet Member for A Sustainable Economy, said, “This signage will do a really important job in helping visitors find their way around and highlight the important and interesting places in towns. We’re pleased that we could use the Welsh Government and UK Government funding pots to enhance the experience that tourists will have when they visit.”

The new signage will provide robust, up to date and quality fingerpost signage to enable pedestrians to locate a number of visitor attractions in towns.
