The geology, wildlife, archaeology and landscape of the Great Orme is of such importance that much of the headland has been designated a Special Area of Conservation, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Heritage Coast.
In order to ensure the successful coexistence of all interests, the Great Orme is managed as a Country Park and Local Nature Reserve by Conwy Countryside Service. The Management Plan sets out the aims for the effective management of the Country Park and Local Nature Reserve.
