AIM: The foster carer will be able to describe what they can do to support the child in placement to have a positive contact experience.

• Understand the legal requirement in relation to birth family members
• To consider the challenges of working with birth family members and the benefits of achieving a positive working relationship for all parties
• Consider the issues raised when children transition to birth families
• Examine the importance of recording in relation to contact
