  • 2025:  20 and 21 January,  5 and 6 February,  4 and 5 March

Course details

  • Time:  9:30am to 4:30pm
  • Venue:  Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay
  • Trainer:  Personal Care Consultants
  • Target group:  All staff who are involved in moving and handling of people

This is a two day course and both days need to be attended in full.

Course aims and objectives

This course is aimed at new starters working within a social care setting.

Course content:

  • The Law and legal implication of moving and handling of people.
  • Risk assessment of situations, equipment and people.
  • How to move and handle a person in various situations.
  • To provide knowledge on best practice when moving and handling a person.
  • To consider equipment suitable for the individual and how to inspect equipment e.g. slings, stand aids, hoists, beds.
