  • Time:  9:30am to 12:30pm  (9:15am arrival for tea/coffee and registration)
  • Venue:  Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay
  • Trainer:  Conwy Workforce Development and Learning Team
  • Targeted services:  Business & Transformation, Community Wellbeing, Disability Team, Older People & HSW, Quality Standards, Vulnerable People Team
  • Target group:  This is mandatory training for Social Workers, Assessing and Reviewing Officers and OTs across Older people and Disability Services, Vulnerable People and Mental Wellness Services 

Course aims and objectives


Attendees will cover:

  • The Financial Assessment Process for both residential and domiciliary care
  • Having robust conversations regarding charging for care
  • Legal requirements and debt recovery
  • Request for review of charges process and revised policy
  • Court of Protection and Safeguarding
  • Signposting to debt management and advice
  • Opportunity for question and answers

Attendees will leave with the confidence to have robust conversations with individuals, their families or carers regarding charging for care.
