Course aims and objectives:

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand what is meant by reflective practice in social work.
  • Understand why reflective practice is important in contemporary social work.
  • Have knowledge of different theories and models of reflection.
  • Be able to use a range of reflective models to enhance reflection.
  • Understand the barriers to reflective practice and how to overcome them.
  • Use reflective practice techniques to critically analyse information, construct hypotheses to inform decision making and planning.
  • Be able to analyse information from assessments to inform planning.
