Course aims and objectives
The course will consider the multiple roles and responsibilities of provider services in preventing and responding to the risk of abuse to adults with care and support needs.
Course Content
- Increased confidence to carry out professional roles and responsibilities to safeguard adults at risk
- Causes and prevention of abuse in provider settings
- Creating a “safety culture”
- Thresholds – when to use multi-agency adult protection process
- The manager’s role in multi-agency safeguarding adult’s procedures – enquiries and investigation; management investigations/serious incidents; disciplinary investigations; staff grievances/customer complaints; safety and protection plans
- Keeping the adult at risk at the centre of the process
