Community Regeneration Key Fund success for 42 projects
We are pleased to announce that 42 projects in Conwy are set to receive funding from the UKSPF Conwy Community Regeneration Key Fund.
Bids were submitted by community focused organisations that want to deliver projects that address local needs, contribute to building Pride in Place, and make a visible difference.
With a total of £3million allocated so far, the successful projects range from youth projects, environmental initiatives, play facilities, to community building renovations.
Cllr Nigel Smith, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy, said: “The Community Regeneration Key Fund has made it possible for funding to be distributed across the county to make sure local communities benefit from UKSPF.
“I’m delighted that these projects will be able to do vital work in, and with, our communities. I wish them all every success.”
Rt Hon David Jones, MP for Clwyd West, said: “Right across Clwyd West, communities are seeing real benefits from HM Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
“These range from a few thousand pounds for the refurbishment of children’s play areas to a quarter of a million pounds for the renewal of the athletics track at Stadiwm CSM in Eirias Park.
“The overarching theme is to make Conwy County a pleasanter place to be: to enhance our already beautiful open spaces with 21st century leisure and sports facilities.
“Huge congratulations are due to Conwy County Borough Council for working so effectively with the Government.”
Robin Millar, MP for Aberconwy, said: "I'm delighted to see the hard work of so many groups and their ideas supported through this Shared Prosperity Funding from the UK government.
“My two ambitions have been to secure investment for Aberconwy and north Wales - and make sure some of it finds its way to groups working on the front line in our communities.
“I'm also pleased that many of the awards have gone to issues residents have raised with me directly. The range of awards - from large projects like Hall for All in Conwy or repairs to the car park on the promenade in Llanfairfechan, to smaller schemes in Maenan - also highlights that money is getting through to where it is needed. I know there will be those who have missed out but this is I hope just a start.
