More new shelters for Llandudno promenade

Conwy County Borough Council has successfully secured further funding to replace five promenade shelters along Llandudno’s North Shore. Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics Scheme will fund replacing three of the five remaining promenade shelters and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund will replace two shelters.

Following on from two shelters replaced last year, the remaining five shelters on North Shore Promenade, which are currently in a poor condition, will be renewed.

The new structures will replicate the Victorian design of the previous replacements and continue to offer seating and shelter, with ample opportunity to enjoy the magnificent views across Llandudno Bay.

Demolition of the shelters will start in January 2024. After demolition, contractors will put in new foundations and let them cure before building, with the new Victorian-style shelters expected to be fully built by summer 2024.
