National Empty Homes Grant
Conwy County Borough Council is now participating in the National Empty Homes Grant.
Welsh Government have developed this scheme for properties which have been empty for 12 months or longer and this must be evidenced by council tax records. It is only available for owners who intend to live in the property themselves on completion of renovation work and a condition of the Grant is that they must live there for 5 years.
Grants will be amounts between £1,000 and £25,000 and are to be used for repair works that are identified by the Local Authority as being necessary (at the time of the initial visit) to make the property safe and secure, and for energy efficiency improvement works (but not only for energy efficiency works).
