An advice and information event for young people aged 15-24 was held last month (21 Oct).
Over 140 young people attended the ‘Future Booster’ event organised through the Conwy Youth Engagement and Belonging Service at Coed Pella Offices in Colwyn Bay.
The event offered support and advice to young people on a range of topics including work and training, benefits, housing and well-being. Exhibitors included Conwy Youth Service, Coleg Llandrillo Menai, Youth Shedz Abergele, Conwy Employment Hub, Careers Wales, Viva LGBT+ and Young Carers.
Students from secondary schools in Conwy County attended, along with young people not currently in employment, education or training, to get advice about the opportunities and support available to them.
Cllr Julie Fallon Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education, with responsibility for the Youth Engagement and Belonging Service, said, “We were really pleased to be able to organise this event for young people. Those who attended were able to benefit from a range of advice and services, and learn about the opportunities available for them at this important stage in their lives.”
