Scheme objectives
The objectives for this scheme have come from key issues, constraints, and transport specific objectives set by Conwy County Borough Council and Welsh Government, and from stakeholder engagement.
We anticipate that the improved pedestrian and cycling experience will improve commuting between Conwy and Llandudno Junction and beyond, and attract a greater number of visitors to the area via walking and cycling
Key objectives
- Enhance active travel connections between Conwy and Llandudno Junction
- Reduce conflict between non-motorised users crossing the river
- Shift from private car use to active travel
- Remove the need for cyclists to dismount when crossing the road bridge
- Improve user perceptions of access to/from Conwy by non-motorised ways of travelling
- No adverse impacts on the environment
- No adverse impacts on heritage assets
