The County Borough Of Conwy (St Andrews Road Colwyn Bay) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2023
The Conwy County Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (which said Act of 1984 is hereinafter referred to as "the Act of 1984"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby makes the following Order:-
- 1. Save as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable or parking attendant in uniform, use, cause or permit any vehicle or vehicle and load the combined weight of which exceeds 7.5 tonne to proceed in the entire length of St Andrews Road Colwyn Bay as shown on the plan annexed hereto.
- 2. Nothing in Article 1 of this Order shall apply so as to prevent any person from causing any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of road specified in the said Schedule , if the vehicle is being used:-
- (a) for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to that length of road;
- (b) the purposes of repair, maintenance and the like on the road or on land adjacent to those lengths of road
- (c) in connection with any building operation or demolition in or adjacent to that length of road, the removal of any obstruction to traffic in that length of road, the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of that length of road, or the laying, erection, alteration or repair in or adjacent to that length of road of any sewer or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or of any telegraphic line as defined in the Telegraph Act, 1978.
- (d) for Police, Fire Service or Ambulance purposes
- (e) in the service of the Council
- 3. The Order shall come into operation on 20 March 2023 and may be cited as "the County Borough of Conwy (St Andrews Road Colwyn Bay) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2023".
