Our Disability Family Workers are based in the 5 local Family Teams. We are here to provide support for families of children with disabilities and additional needs
- Groups to bring families together, such as ‘Let’s Get Sensory’ sessions
- Groups and courses to help parents with family life
- Work with you on what matters to you, and your family
- Provide practical advice and resources, for example calm boxes, story boards, visuals
- Open doors to other local support
- Host activities and drop-ins in the Family Centres by other organisations supporting families of children with disabilities and additional needs
- We work closely with the Children with Disabilities team in Social Services, the Child Development Centre, schools, and charities who work with families of children with disabilities and additional needs
