Success at the Teaching Awards

Two teachers in Conwy County were winners in the Welsh Government Professional Teaching Awards Cymru.

The Awards recognise the achievements of teachers across Wales.

The Awards ceremony was held on 14 July.

Dr Gareth Evans from Ysgol y Creuddyn, Llandudno was named Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School.

Amy Grimwald who teaches at Ysgol Aberconwy in Conwy was awarded the Betty Campbell (MBE) Award for promoting the contributions and perspectives of Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

Cllr Julie Fallon, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said, “I’d like to congratulate these two teachers for being recognised at the WG Professional Teaching Awards and I’m very proud of their achievements. They are an inspiration to their students, and to their colleagues.”
