At Llandudno Magistrates Court on 21/01/25, Mared Eurgain Roberts was found guilty of a breach of section 13 of The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (breeding dogs without a licence), in a case brought by Conwy County Borough Council Licensing Officers.

Mrs Roberts was fined £500.00, due to an early guilty plea, and ordered to pay £366.55 costs and a victim surcharge of £200.00. This is a total of £1066.55, to be paid in full within 28 days.

Despite repeated requests from Licensing Officers to supply appropriate information, and reminders to renew her licence, Mrs Roberts continued to breed dogs and advertise them for sale via the Pets4Homes website.

Councillor Geoff Stewart, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood, Environment & Regulatory Services, said “As an authority we take our duty to protect the health and welfare of animals very seriously. This positive outcome highlights the hard work undertaken by Conwy Licensing Officers in applying the regulations to protect both animals and consumers.”
