This is a plan for the development and use of land within the County Borough and will guide the location of new development until 2022.
This is a plan which strives to address inequalities in protected groups in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
The Rural Development Plan helps us all to maintain, enjoy and benefit from the Welsh countryside. At the same time, it tackles specific problems which affect many people in rural areas. Looking after the environment and encouraging sustainable economic development are two of the most important goals in the Plan. But creating more highly skilled jobs and supporting local community projects are high priorities too.
The Plan is the second RDP for Wales and comes with over £795 million in funding to be spent over the next seven years, including £195 million from the EU's European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The Plan is split into four axes:
- Axis 1: Making farming, forestry & food processing more competitive
- Axis 2: Conserving our landscape & environment
- Axis 3: Improving quality of life and encouraging diversification
- Axis 4: Implementing the Leader approach, i.e. piloting of new grass-roots led initiatives that help to create a more sustainable society, economy & environment.
Local Well-being Plan
Conwy and Denbighshire Public Services Board (PSB) is a collection of public bodies working together to improve the well-being of their counties. The PSB must prepare and publish a local well-being plan, which outlines how the board intends to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of its area by working to achieve the 7 Well-being goals within the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
There are two main elements of the local well-being plan: the local objectives; and the steps the board proposes to take to meet the objectives In preparation for the plan, an assessment of the current economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of Conwy & Denbighshire has been undertaken and is available here. The local well-being plan will be published by April 2018.
