Garden of remembrance

Our garden of remebrance at Bron y Nant is in two areas, the Rose Garden and Top Meadow.  They are beautifully maintained by our experienced gardening team and are places of quiet contemplation.

The Rose Garden is divided into 10 rose beds with different coloured blooms.  You may choose to scatter your loved one’s ashes in the rose bed. Memorial plaques are available to fix onto the wooden borders around the beds.

Top Meadow at Bron y Nant is a grassed area with some mature and young trees.  The area is mapped out into metre squares and if you choose to scatter ashes here, you will be given the number relevant to that area.  Fresh flowers can be placed on the grass.

As these are communal areas, we ask that you do not place your own memorials in these areas. Any memorials found in these locations will be removed and stored in the office for you to collect.  We have a memorial tree in this area with leaves which can be engraved for your loved ones.

You are welcome to leave Christmas tributes and memorials. Christmas tributes are removed from the Garden of Remembrance on 31 January each year. Christmas memorials are removed from our cemeteries from 15 February each year.

Memorials and headstones

A memorial is a lasting tribute to your loved one and our specially trained staff can help you chose the most fitting one for you and your family.

Memorials can include headstones, niche memorials with ashes placed behind, sanctum towers and sanctum vaults with plaques and the option of placing ashes behind, granite, marble or porcelain tablet memorials, and memorial benches in the grounds.

We cater for all budgets for memorial plaques with prices starting at £80.  Our newest memorial options are in the garden of remembrance areas. We have a colourful mulberry tree in the Top Meadow where you can add a leaf inscribed with your loved one’s name or our sleeper plaques in the Rose Garden which can have photos or images engraved.  Both sets of plaques are available on a 10 year lease which can be extended.

Our staff are available to help you with the process of purchasing a headstone and we recommend speaking with us before purchase.  All headstones much be approved before they are erected.

To apply for a permit to erect a headstone, you must be the grave owner and have a BRAMM registered memorial mason who will carry out the work for you.If you are not the owner you may need to complete a grave transfer application.

Book of remembrance

We have an old and a new book on display during office hours.  The pages of these books are turned every day when the office is open or we can turn them to a specific date on request.

There is a digital copy of the books on a touch screen outside the crematorium office which is available to use 24 hours a day.  The books of rememberance are also available online.

Children's garden

Our children’s garden is specially designed for families who have lost a child and for children who have lost a sibling or parent.

Dora the mouse wishes she could tell her mum how much she misses her. Her friends in her village help her to write a letter and send it off to her mum in heaven.  Families can write a letter to their loved one and put it in the post box in the children’s garden.

Ashes can be scattered in the garden or placed in a memorial.  Memorials are available to be engraved with your child’s details.

Rememberance services

We hold an annual service for people to gather and remember loved ones who have passed.

Benches

Benches are a traditional way to remember a loved one. You can purchase a bench from our range of choices, to be installed in the cemetery or around the garden of remembrance. We will work closely with you to position the bench in a suitable place, install a stable base for your bench, and supply a plaque with your chosen words.

Memorial envelopes

Our memorial envelopes are 100% recyclable and biodegradable and depict scenes from around Conwy county. Inside the envelope is recycled wildflower seed-infused paper, where you can write a short note or draw a picture to a loved one. These can be planted at home or posted in our letterbox in the children’s garden. There is also a small packet of wildflower seeds which can be scattered at home.
