We offer a choice of two chapels at Bron y Nant in Mochdre, the Cemetery Chapel and the Crematorium Chapel, with plenty of scope for personalising the service to your loved one. To book one of our chapels, please call 01492 577733.
We can help you arrange a webcast from our chapels with an external supplier. Please ask us for details.
Cemetery Chapel
Our Cemetery Chapel is an intimate setting for a private service. This chapel can be used for burial services, a service before committal, a memorial service of any faith, or any other suitable occasion.
There is seating for up to 100 people. The chairs are not fixed and can be set out in whatever layout suits your needs.
The Cemetery Chapel comes with:
- CD player
- organ
- piano
- permanent floral tributes (white)
- disabled access
Crematorium Chapel
Our Crematorium Chapel seats up to 100 people, with covered overflow space (standing only). This chapel is only used for cremation services.
The chapel has video tribute and webcasting facilities, plus the Obitus music system so you can play the music you choose throughout the chapel, waiting room and outside for additional mourners. Disabled access and hearing loop available.
The Crematorium Chapel comes with:
- overflow facilities (standing only): porch and canopy
- organ
- Obitus music system (fee applies)
- two display screens - visual tributes can be displayed throughout the service, as a single photograph, a slideshow, or video (fee applies)
- permanent floral tributes (green)
- disabled access
- hearing loop
Our facilities are available between 8:30am and 4pm from Monday to Thursday, and 8:30am to 3:30pm on Friday.
Services are usually held every 45 minutes in our chapels. Services generally run for 30 minutes, with 15 minutes allowed for mourners to arrive and depart.
If you are expecting a large number of speakers or mourners, or if you have a longer order of service, you can book a double slot for an additional fee. Please be aware that if your service overruns, this affects all the services for the rest of the day, which can cause upset to other bereaved families.
We may be able to provide a Saturday service time and burial if this is required for religious reasons. We are not able to provide cremations over the weekend. We do not offer services on bank holidays.
Funerals are personal occasions, and we want you to be able to have the service that suits your family and loved ones. There are no restrictions on how you use your time in the chapel and you are free to have any prayers, readings, poetry and eulogies that you feel will be appropriate.
Seats are generally arranged in rows but can be moved to other layouts if preferred. Pets are welcome to attend services in both our chapels.
Music and recordings
Music is an important part of the funeral service and we will do our best to make sure the music available helps you reflect the life and character of your loved one
You can select your own music to play before, during and after the service.
Music is available in the Crematorium Chapel via the Obitus system or we can download your own recordings onto the system. Your funeral director will need to request your music and visual tributes with Obitus 48 hours before the service. Obitus fees are based on your requirements.
There is a CD player in the Cemetery Chapel available for you to use free of charge.
An organ is available in both chapels at no extra charge and other musical instruments are welcomed.
If you are holding a collection, a donation plate is available for you to use during your service.
After a burial service, floral tributes will usually be taken to the burial site by your funeral director. After a cremation service, we will display floral tributes alongside the name of your loved one in the courtyard behind the Crematorium Chapel
We strongly recommend you take any floral tributes on the day of the service or you are welcome to leave tributes in our Book of Remembrance Room.
The crematorium grounds are home to an abundance of wildlife which can damage floral tributes. We cannot accept liability for any tributes left in any of our grounds.
We welcome those of all faiths and none into our chapels.
A cross is usually displayed at the front of the Crematorium Chapel – this can be covered or removed on request.
In some faiths, witnessing the coffin being placed into the cremator is an important part of the process. We are happy to arrange this for up to 6 people, please let us know in advance so we can make the arrangements.
We may be able to provide a Saturday service time and burial if this is required for religious reasons. We are not able to provide cremations over the weekend.
We provide a free of charge cremation or burial for under 18s, which includes free use of a chapel for the service, with audio visual tributes. The Cemetery Chapel is available to you for an unlimited period throughout the day, without time restrictions.
Whether your child has died in hospital or elsewhere, you are free to choose where to hold the service and burial or cremation. There is no requirement to use the facility closest to a particular hospital.
If you choose cremation, we will guarantee to return the ashes in a small urn on the next working day.
We have a dedicated Children’s Garden where ashes can be scattered or placed with memorials.
