The ceremony may be relevant for a special reason such as:
- Commemoration of a special wedding anniversary
- If you were married abroad you can renew your wedding vows in a ceremony held for families and friends
- After a challenging period in your relationship, you may wish to celebrate your renewed commitment to each other in a personal ceremony
- You may have had a simple marriage ceremony and may now want to invite guests who were not present
The ceremony will be conducted by a celebrant officer from the County. They will help you create appropriate content that includes special meaning for you both at the ceremony. The ceremony itself will contain an introduction and welcome, acknowledgement of children of the marriage, readings, renewal of vows, rededication or giving of new rings, words from previous wedding guests, signing of certificate and witnesses closing words. The ceremony can take place at the register office or an approved premises.
Please note the ceremony is non-legal. A copy of your marriage certificate will need to be shown before a ceremony can be booked.
