The £11.49million new dual-stream Primary School for the community of Llandudno Junction is part of Conwy County Borough Council’s Primary School Modernisation Programme, in conjunction with the Welsh Government 21st Century Schools Programme.

Read Construction have been successful in securing the contract for the new build Llandudno Junction School.

Ysgol Awel y Mynydd will have a capacity for 432 full-time pupils and 60 part-time nursery pupils. Pupils will be taught either through a Welsh First Language or Welsh Second Language/Bilingual curriculum.

Following workshops and a vote by pupils and staff from the town’s two primary schools, a new name for the new Llandudno Junction School has been chosen as Ysgol Awel y Mynydd.
