Evidence suggests that children who have the opportunity to eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast prior to the start of the school day are healthier and are more likely to achieve their full educational potential. The free breakfast initiative gives children in primary schools the opportunity of receiving a free healthy breakfast at school each day.
School in Conwy County Borough Council are participating in this initiative, and have been serving breakfast in primary schools since 2005.

Studies have shown that a healthy breakfast improves the concentration, behaviour and attendance of pupils. Breakfast is available in the morning before school so that children can enjoy the social aspect of eating together whilst under supervision, and then they go on into school, on time, ready to begin their day with a flying start!
If you have any queries regarding the breakfast initiative, please contact the headteacher of your child's school.
