Important Information
Your evidence needs to be true to the best of your knowledge and belief. Failure to do this could lead you to be liable to prosecution.
Human Rights
When gathering evidence it is important not to infringe human rights legislation. When completing your noise nuisance record sheet entries do not include personal information. When recording audio evidence of the noise, just try to capture the noise, do not snoop on neighbours and their family e.g. do not lean over fences. Please ensure all recordings are taken in your own home or garden.
Loss of evidence. The Council cannot be responsible for the loss of any evidence submitted, please remember to keep a copy.
Record the noise when it is at its worst.
We can block individuals from using the service if the Noise app is abused.

The Noise App walk through video
The Noise App enables noise complaints to be received by this Local Authority at any time of the day or night with the facility to send sound recordings and brief notes directly to investigating officers.
The Noise App can assist complainants with gathering evidence. However the evidence supports the investigation of a complaint, it does not solely determine a statutory nuisance on its own. This is for the investigating officer to decide using their professional judgement.
