Mynydd Marian Local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest is a small limestone ridge on the edge of the village of Llysfaen between Colwyn Bay and Abergele. The top of the ridge affords extensive views along the coast and also inland across the rural landscape and towards the distant mountains of Snowdonia and the Clwydians.
The grassland flora is of special interest and a visit during early summer, especially May/June, will be rewarded by a display of orchids and other grassland flowers. Hoary rockrose, spring cinquefoil, silver-studded blue butterfly and the tall, wafting upright brome grasses all contribute to its designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
