During the seventeenth century Pentre Mawr house and gardens were the home of the Jones family. Nearly three hundred years later the park was acquired by the Local Authority.

- Facilities - Sculptures, a quiet walled garden, perimeter footpath allowing access to the whole park, biodiversity area and pictorial meadow.
In 2012 a new viewing platform and two new habitat islands were installed in the large pond to increase access, awareness and enjoyment of this area of the site. This project was thanks to the hard work of the Friends of Abergele Parklands and generous funding from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd, a not for profit business that awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK from funds donated by FCC Environment to the Landfill Communities Fund.
