The SPG covers 'redundant' rural buildings in the 'Rural Development Strategy Area'; that is, lands outside the main urban areas within the Conwy local planning authority area. Redundant buildings are those which are no longer required for their original use, predominantly agriculture. This SPG and the relevant policies do not cover replacement buildings.
This SPG has now been adopted as council policy with effect from November 2014. SPGs help to make sure certain policies and proposals are better understood and applied more effectively. They do not have the same status as policies in adopted development plans but we use them to help us make decisions on planning applications.
