Bodlondeb park tennis courts officially opened after renovation

• Bodlondeb Park tennis courts officially reopened after renovations managed by the LTA and Conwy County Borough Council, with support from the LTA Tennis Foundation as part of the biggest ever transformation of parks tennis facilities across Britain.
• It is one of four Conwy County Borough Council City Parks, with the others located at Rhos On Sea, Min y Don and Pentre Mawr.
• Courts across Conwy provide opportunities for many more people to pick up a racket and get on court. All of the courts are now bookable online via LTA Play Tennis so players can find and book a court to ensure availability.

Bodlondeb tennis courts have officially reopened after a £108,000 renovation which was fully funded by the LTA Tennis Foundation and jointly managed by the LTA and Conwy County Borough Council.

Through the Parks Tennis Project, the LTA is delivering the biggest ever investment in parks tennis facilities across Britain, which has been used to transform the Bodlondeb courts.

The park courts at Rhos On Sea, Min y Don, and Pentre Mawr remain open and free of charge and, as with the Bodlondeb courts, are now bookable via the LTA Play Tennis so players can find and book a court to ensure availability.

The Bodlondeb courts have undergone extensive work to ensure viability for years to come, including resurfacing, new nets and a new gate system. This nationwide programme of investment is seeing thousands of existing park tennis courts in poor or unplayable condition brought back to life for the benefit of communities across the country, providing vital opportunities for children and adults to get active.

All courts will be available to book via the LTA website. New booking systems and gate access technology means it is now easier to get on court by booking in advance to guarantee availability.

The courts at Bodlondeb park will be free to use between 7am and 9am, and 1pm and 2pm every day. A £4 per hour per court charge will apply at other times. Courts will be bookable online via the LTA Play Tennis website.

An Annual Tennis Pass will be available at £39 per household per year, ensuring families can enjoy the courts for 75 pence per week – the fees will ensure that the courts can be properly maintained in the years to come.

The LTA and Conwy County Borough Council are working together to deliver Barclays Free Park Tennis sessions which will provide regular opportunities for anyone to pick up a racket and play. Further announcements will be made about these sessions in due course.
