Craig y Don paddling pool - update 21/06/24

Contractors are carrying out the final stages of the work at Craig y Don paddling pool - this work needs to be done during an extended period of dry weather.

The weather has improved over the last day or so and we hope that these clearer, more settled conditions will mean the final sections of the Craig y Don paddling pool can be completed.

The team and the contractors are aware of the need to complete as swiftly as possible, so that residents and visitors can enjoy this much loved facility.

Further information:

In April 2023 it was confirmed that Conwy’s paddling pools would not open due to failed slip-tests.  It was agreed that whilst the pools were closed, more extensive structural work could be carried out before applying the new specialist coating.

Following refurbishment, the paddling pools at Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Rhos-on-Sea re-opened in May 2024.

The fourth paddling pool at Craig-y-Don is by far the largest. All major construction work has been completed and contractors have been carrying out the final stages of their work when the weather allows.  The opening date for Craig-y Don paddling pool will be confirmed as soon as it’s ready.
