Green light for Bodlondeb disposal
Conwy County Borough Council has chosen a preferred bidder for the Bodlondeb office building in Conwy.
Members of the Finance and Resources Scrutiny Committee and the Cabinet have supported awarding the lease to Cardiff based Ideas Forums Ltd who will refurbish the offices as a Business and Innovation Centre.
Council Leader, Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, said: “I’m delighted to confirm Ideas Forums has been chosen to take on the lease for Bodlondeb. We agreed that the proposal submitted by Ideas Forums offered a sustainable and exciting future for the building, and provided economic development opportunities for the town of Conwy and wider area. I’d like thank my fellow councillors for their careful consideration of this proposal.”
The Council will now start the process of awarding the lease, subject to the necessary legal processes.

Nick Pritchard, one of the most successful entrepreneurs from North Wales in the last decade, is supporting the venture to get more young people to set up new businesses in the region.
He said: “As a passionate North Walian who has already created considerable employment for Welsh workers through my other businesses, I want to provide opportunities for young people with great ideas to stay and thrive in the area. As a result, we will be offering free space and support to those who want become entrepreneurs and create exciting new businesses that will grow and make an impact on their sectors. By transforming Bodlondeb into a world-class centre for entrepreneurship, our aim is to generate hundreds of new jobs and tens of millions of pounds for the local economy over the next five years”.
Notes
The woodland, war memorial, lawn, cricket ground, tennis courts and children’s play area are not included in the proposal, and will continue to be available for the public to use.
