Tour of Britain Women 2024 - Road Closures & Parking Suspensions Information - Thursday 6th June 2024

We are pleased to welcome The Tour of Britain Women; one of the UK’s biggest professional cycle races, on Thursday 6th June 2024. The opening stages will see some of the world’s top riders tackle some of Wales’s most iconic roads and climbs, with thousands expected to line the streets to welcome the race.

This event has historically been very well supported in Conwy County. The riders will depart from Welshpool in mid-Wales with 2,276 m of climbing to endure. They will enter Llandudno via Conwy, before a spectacular finish on the promenade.

The stage will leave Welshpool at 11:15 and are expected to reach Llandudno at around 15:10

For the safety of the cyclists there will be a small number of road closures and parking restrictions in place along the route. Please see below for specific details

Road closures will be manned at all times and access will be maintained as long as possible for residents and businesses.

A rolling road closure along the length of the route will be enforced throughout the day. This means roads on and around the race route will be closed for a short period in which it takes the race to pass by – usually about 10 to 15 minutes around the estimated time of arrival and indicated by police escort vehicles.

There will be an advance vehicle 15 minutes ahead of the race, keeping you up-to-date with what is happening. The race is escorted along the route by trained police officers and escort motorcyclists. If you are asked to stop by an officer, please listen carefully and obey their instructions.

The finish line will be located outside Venue Cymru on the Promenade in Llandudno with The Tour Village. We encourage everyone to join the celebrations in Llandudno or along the route. There will be activities on the promenade all afternoon.

Please take note of the following closures and restrictions below.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience. We hope you agree that the event will be a real positive for the area and we thank you for your patience and co-operation.
