The next Revaluation of Business Rates is underway - Revaluation 2023
The next Revaluation for Business Rates premises will take effect from 1 April 2023 based on the rental market as at 1 April 2021. Business rates revaluations update rateable values - and therefore rates bills - to reflect changes in the rental market. This helps ensure that shifts in economic activity, which have driven changes in market values, are fairly reflected in business rates liabilities. The government is required by law to introduce transitional arrangements at each Revaluation. These have been previously used to support businesses to adjust to their new bills. When further information is received, this page will be updated accordingly.
Providing your rental information to the Valuation Office Agency ensures that the Business Rates which you will pay will be accurate. If you receive a request for rent, lease and ownership details from the Valuation Office Agency you should go online and complete the form here.

Please note that Business Rates are payable on the basis of the rateable value currently appearing in the Rating List and that you remain liable to pay the account sent to you until such time as the rateable value in the Rating List is amended. If the value is reduced, any overpayment will be refunded, together with any interest which may be due in certain circumstances.
