The Payroll and Pensions Services is responsible for the processing and the calculating of your monthly salaries, ensuring that all our statutory and legislative obligations are followed for both payments and deductions.
Depending on your contract you will be paid directly into your bank account on or before the 15th for CCBC Employees or on or before the 21st of each month for Education Employees, net of the normal deductions for income tax, national insurance, etc.
Contracted employees are paid a 1/12 of their yearly salary (pro rata) each month for the whole of the month of payment unless they start or finish mid-month. If you should start or finish mid-month your yearly salary would by divided by 12 and again by the number of days in the month (28, 29, 30 or 31). This would then be multiplied by the number of days worked after your start date to the end of the month or the number of days worked prior to your leaving date.
- Enhancements, overtime, travel and expenses claims as well as Casual Employees are paid in arrears.
- As an Authority we have a legal duty to adhere to The Pensions Regulator’s Auto Enrolment Policy and you will be automatically deducted pension should you meet the criteria set by the Pensions Regulator.
- Non-Teaching employees are enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) which is administered by Gwynedd Pensions, employees in the Teaching Profession are enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
