Course details
For setting leaders/childminders and staff members with responsibility for additional needs new to their role or those that were previously unable to attend.
Part 1 (week one)
Raising awareness of the ALNET and ALN Process in Conwy.
Understanding the Provision Map and Quality Universal Provision:
- Understand the requirements of the ALNET Act
- Be aware of the Regional Provision map
- Understand what is meant by high quality universal Provision
- Consider the importance of Person Centred planning
Part 2 (week two)
Person Centred Practice (PCP) in the Early Years and the part it plays in the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
The Session will provide an introduction to PCP approaches and how to create a One Page Profile.
The Session will help to review a One Page Profile and provide an overall view of how to contribute to a Person centred Review:
- Introduction to Person Centred Practice and its place within the new ALN and Education Tribunal Act in Wales
- Include how to create a one page profile for a child with additional learning needs as part of information gathering
- The Training will provide an overview of how this information can contribute to a Person Centred Review as part of monitoring Additional learning provision for a child within the Early Years
- Participants will have the opportunity to practise writing a one page profile
Part 3 (week three)
Understanding the Conwy and Flintshire ALN Toolkit Provision Document:
- Understand the requirements of the ALNET Act and the transformation process
- Be aware of the Local Authority’s Toolkit Provision document
- Understand what is meant by high quality Universal Provision
- Consider the importance of Person Centred planning
