Bag Valve Mask First Aid Training (1 hour - FREE TRAINING)


Summary (optional) Because of the increased risk of infection from Covid 19, current advice is to not give mouth to mouth resuscitation during CPR. You should use a bag valve mask (BVM) instead, to reduce the risk to you and the patient. A bag valve mask (BVM) provides positive pressure ventilation to patients that have stopped breathing.

All Conwy County Borough Council first aid courses will now include training on the bag valve mask (BVM). This includes the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course which all childcare providers in Conwy have to attend.

Only staff who have had bag valve mask (BVM) training should use it.

If you’ve updated your first aid certificate prior to 11/11/20 you will have missed out on this vital addition to the course.  We have arranged for extra training just for the bag valve mask (BVM) so you can be up to date.
