The TRAC project is aimed at supporting young people aged 11-16 at risk of disengaging with education and at risk of becoming ‘Not in Education, Employment or Training’ (NEET). Conwy County Borough Council TRAC team supports young people of secondary school age (11-16).

The aim of TRAC is to ensure that young people at risk of disengaging and at risk of becoming NEET maximise their opportunities for success in adult life. Participants will benefit from improvements to their overall health, wellbeing and welfare.

The team work closely with schools, other local authority departments, further education colleges and work based learning providers to provide a comprehensive service within the county.

The project is delivered by a team in Conwy and includes interventions such as:

  • one to one well-being support and action planning for the future
  • one to one counselling support
  • therapeutic workshops looking at behaviour and other well-being factors
  • access to accredited and non-accredited courses delivered by TRAC providers
  • work experience support
  • links with families and schools to support the participants
