There are two elements to the public space plans for the Kinmel Bay Coastal Defence Improvements Scheme, improving access, and enhancing two key public areas as mini park spaces.
Improving access
Where possible we’ve included seating at the beach access points, to allow visitors and residents to enjoy the panoramic sea views.
All the improved beach access points will be integrated into the seawall, so they don’t affect the width of the coastal path:
- Creating one new stepped access point with seating facing the sea (near Baysville Coffee and • Grill)
- Creating one new ramped beach access (by Sunnyvale Caravan Park)
- Enhancing two access points to be fully accessible ramps (near Kinmel Dunes Local Nature Reserve and Sandy Cove community)
- Improving two stepped access points with seating facing the sea (near Kinmel Dunes Local Nature Reserve and Sandy Cove community)
- Improving one stepped access point down the enhanced revetment (near Golden Sands holiday park)
Mini park spaces
- Enhancing two key public areas as mini park spaces (parklets). Typically including seating, informal play and ecological enhancements.
