start content

This service is for households who use a large amount of nappies or incontinence products and find they do not have enough space for these items in their wheelie bin.

How it works

  • To register for this service, please contact us at erf@conwy.gov.uk or 01492 575337.
  • Once you are registered, we will give you a small lockable collection caddy, collection bags, and information about this service. We aim to have these with you within 10 working days.
  • You can begin using this service as soon as you receive your bags and caddy. Just place the used nappies or incontinence products in the bag and tie the bag shut once it is full. Please put the bags in your caddy.
  • On your collection day, put the caddy at the kerbside by 7am. Our team will empty your caddy and leave replacement bags.
  • If no waste is left out for 8 weeks, collections will stop.

What we collect

  • Disposable nappies
  • Nappy changing waste such as wet wipes, nappy sacks and cotton wool
  • Incontinence products (pads, pants and bedding)

We do not collect

  • Sanitary waste (sanitary towels or tampons). This should be bagged and put in your wheelie bin.
  • Infectious clinical waste. Please contact your community nurse to arrange a clinical waste collection from the Health Board.
  • Animal waste (including bedding, puppy pads). This should be bagged and put in your wheelie bin.
  • Non-infectious stoma or colostomy bags and catheters must be emptied before you put them in your black refuse bin.
  • Needles and syringes must be taken to a needle exchange - ask your doctor if you do not have a sharps box.

Bin dimensions

  • 43cm tall, 30cm deep and 37cm wide
  • Capacity: 40 litres
