Course details
- Time: 9:15am to 4:15pm (9am arrival for tea/coffee and registration)
- Venue: Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay

- Target group: Direct care staff from commissioned services; care and support staff from all social services; community support staff
Course aims and objectives
The course teaches/refreshes the lifesaving skills and includes:
- Understand the role of the first aider, acting safely, cross infection, recording incidents, available equipment
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking, wounded or suffering from shock
- Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, small cuts, grazes, minor burns and scalds
- Formative and summative assessments will take place during the course and this will verify that the learning objectives have been achieved
