We administer the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Partnership (SCWWDP) Grant in order to provide training and development opportunities for Conwy’s Social Care workforce including our providers and partners in Conwy County.

Training and development opportunities are open to the whole Social Care sector, for example volunteers, direct payment recipients, individuals with caring responsibilities (adults and young carers) and social care workers.

Regional and local workforce plans are in place which identifies and secures implementation of measures to ensure a sufficiently large, skilled, safe and focused workforce to promote the well-being of people with care and support needs. This includes:

  • supporting recruitment and retention
  • competency and qualifications
  • career pathways
  • upskilling individuals in compliance with codes of professional practice within the sector
