What they do;

Open Spaces - Maintain parks, nature reserves, open spaces and road verges throughout the county. Keep the road network useable, including pothole repairs, resurfacing and winter gritting and snow ploughing. Look after our nature and encouraging biodiversity. Clear litter and flytipping and emptying public bins.

Waste - Manage the county’s waste. Make it easy for people in Conwy to be sustainable and recycle as much as possible.

Traffic & Network Management - Keep traffic moving, keep roads safe and lit. Minimise traffic congestion where possible, including road safety improvement work. Provide new and improved routes to encourage active travel (walking, wheeling, cycling). Make sure that proposals for new developments and new roads are safe and sustainable.

Flood Risk & Infrastructure - Fulfil the Council’s legal obligations to manage flooding in the county, including inspecting and maintaining sea defences and highway gullies. Design and build coastal defence and flood alleviation schemes. Advise on flood protection and drainage for new developments. Also maintain play area equipment.

Facilities - Look after Council-owned buildings and assets, including schools and offices, harbours, the crematorium and cemeteries, public toilets and allotments.

Transport - Look after the Council’s fleet of vehicles, from pool cars to gritters. Work will transport companies to improve public transport and subsidise important bus routes. Provide transport for learners.

Infrastructure Consultancy - Technical design, project and contract management of Council infrastructure projects, mostly for other Council departments. Including flood defences, bridges and culverts, retaining walls, playgrounds, schools, offices and other buildings, road improvements and active travel.

Finance & Customer Service - Oversee all ERF's budget including the preparation, monitoring and control. Provide a payroll human resource management, safeguarding, finance and administrative support to all ERF service areas. Provide a single point of contact Customer Advice Team who respond to queries from members of the public and internal customers at the first point of contact, process service requests and manage complaints.

Business Improvement - Manage the corporate Climate Challenge Programme working to reduce the Council’s carbon emissions to net zero by 2030, support all ERF service areas to manage health & safety and coordinate performance management for ERF.
