The following privacy notice applies to Traffic & Network Management – Older Driver Scheme. This includes drivers over 65 years of age undertaking an Older Driver Course.

Purpose for processing and legal basis

The service process personal information in order to provide Older Driver courses which are funded by Welsh Assembly Government to reduce collisions in Conwy County with a specific legal obligation to Section 39(3) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Equalities Act 2010.

Prevention/Detection of Crime/Fraud. The Serious Crime Act 2007 allows public authorities to disclose information for the purposes of preventing fraud, as a member of a specified anti-fraud organisation or otherwise in accordance with any arrangements made with such an organisation.

The Council is required by law to protect the public funds it administers and so may use any information you have provided for the prevention, detection and investigation of fraud and irregularity, for the performance of a contract, or, task carried out in the public interest, or to comply with a legal obligation.   Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations are the Legal basis.

Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject and is necessary to protect their vital interests along with the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller (CCBC).

  • Driving Instructors – Information is shared with the 2 driving instructors that are registered with the authority to deliver the driver assessments.
