Careers / Job Fairs

Conwy Job Expo

Conwy Job Expo, our annual all-sector county-wide Jobs and Careers Fair was held in February and it was declared a resounding success by all who attended.

The event aims to be a “one-stop” shop for employability bringing together employers that are actively recruiting with job seekers, as well as colleges and training organisations for those that are wanting to learn new or develop existing skills. This is the third year we have run the event and every year it grows in stature, with this year’s event attracting 1,117 attendees and 86 exhibitors making the Expo North Wales’ biggest employment event.

Organised by Conwy Employment Hub and DWP with support from Creating Enterprise, Conwy Business Support and Working Wales which is delivered by Careers Wales, the event shone a light on the many and varied career and training opportunities within North Wales with the following feedback received from exhibitors:

• 93% of exhibitors rated the event as either Excellent or Very Good
• 60% of exhibitors said they would be offering a job to a candidate they met on the day
• 99% of exhibitors said they would attend another event organised by the Hub and DWP

Job Fairs

In May, we supported Conwy County Borough Council’s Social Care team in the organisation of a Social Care Job Fair at Coed Pella in Colwyn Bay.  The event was well attended by employers from the sector wanting to promote their job opportunities, while also playing an important role in highlighting the 65 different job roles within the sector.

Throughout the year, we also ran smaller monthly job fairs in partnership with DWP at the Job Centres in Llandudno and Colwyn Bay which were attended by over 300 job seekers, and we also exhibited at job and careers fairs run by our strategic partners including Probation Services, Bangor University, Maximus and local secondary schools.
