Communities for Work Plus

The Welsh Government’s Communities for Work Plus (CfW+) provides employment advisory support and intensive mentoring to people who are under-represented in the labour market including young, older and disabled people; Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, and those with care responsibilities.

After the recent turbulent years, Welsh Government recognised there were still challenges ahead and funded the expansion of the CfW+ programme for 2023-24.

During the year the Hub engaged with 444 unemployed Conwy residents and helped 123 of them secure sustainable employment. The remaining participants were either enrolled on to one of our training courses to develop new or improve existing skills before looking for work or are receiving personalised 1-2-1 mentor support to overcome complex barriers.

2023-2024 Hub Participants
63% Male, 37% Female

Participant Status
15% were economically inactive, 36% were long term unemployed and 49% were short term unemployed.
