The ALN/Inclusion Team work closely with a range of settings (Primary & Secondary Schools and Post-16 Settings). They help these settings to promote the:
- successful educational and social inclusion;
- improved learning outcomes;
- improved well-being outcomes for all children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) across Conwy.
Each setting will have a named ALN/Inclusion Teacher/Officer who will lead the support offered to that setting.
The team of qualified ALN/Inclusion Teacher/Officer has a range of experience and training in a number of specialist areas, including Additional Learning Needs, Teaching and Learning, Speech and Language, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
As the ALN Transformation period continues across Wales, this Team has a key role in supporting schools and parents through the change in processes, embedding of person centred practices and implementation of the new Individual Development Plans.
They help the settings in meeting their statutory and non-statutory roles.
The ALN/Inclusion Teacher/Officer for each setting can attend reviews of children with a School/Local Authority Individual Development Plan (IDP). They will support and advise settings on the evaluation and review of Outcomes and the effectiveness of the Additional Learning Provision (ALP) in place to meet these Outcomes.
