If you work in children’s social care in Conwy, find out how you can access a training session so that you can add Mind of My Own apps to your toolkit.

Here's a very short video introduction to Mind of My Own apps.

What is Mind of my Own?

Mind Of My Own create apps that make it easier for children and young people to express their views and for workers to evidence them. Over 100 organisations are already successfully using Mind Of My Own apps to evidence the views of their young people using their services.

There are two features – the One app and Express. The One app helps young people communicate their views in a way that suits them. Young people create their own account on the One app, which can be used on any device. Express is an accessible app for younger children and those with additional needs to express their views. Express can only be accessed through a worker’s account.

How might you use Mind of My Own?

Mind of my Own will support you in your work with young people in many ways!

  • Have a visit coming up soon? Ask the young person to complete “My worker is visiting” scenario in advance.
  • Getting to know a new young person? Ask them to complete a “This is me” or a “Wellbeing” statement.
  • Prepare in advance for a LAC review or CP conference, to ensure the child’s views are heard.
  • Young people can share their good news with you.

What do young people say about Mind of My Own?

“I find speaking in this way much easier - it’s revolutionary.”
Cara, 16, child in need

“It got me thinking for myself. Very good app and very easy to use.”
Becky, 15, in care
